Decoupaged Glass Bottle Using Rice Paper/Air Dry Clay/Spring Inspired
Between our large home projects I usually have smaller craft projects I’m working on. The upcoming seasons always motivate me to make home decor either for our home or to give as gifts to others. I find its such a great way to pass the time and get the creative juices flowing. Even simple projects such as this, made for no specific reason makes me feel good and starts me thinking about how I would like to change my house for the upcoming Spring. From blueberry pancakes to an empty glass Maple container comes my first spring inspired craft of the season. I love the shape of this particular bottle…

Vintage Accent Table Makeover/Homemade Chalk Paint
This vintage accent table was an antique store find many years ago. It was missing some of the trim and the finish on top was worn out in spots. It was one of the first pieces we thrifted after moving into our home. Originally I thought I would be using it only temporarily until I had found bigger and better furniture to fill our space but after living with it for a few years I realized how much I liked having a triangle shaped table to fit into the odd spaces in our home. When we bought this table we weren’t considering style or finish, however, we did appreciate that…

Beginner Friendly Decoupaged Ornaments Using Napkins, Glue And Chalk Paint
My relaxation during the holiday season involves personalizing gifts and making them myself. This can prove to be time consuming but by keeping them easy and giving them some consideration ahead of time, these crafts and smaller projects have become one of my biggest stress relievers. This project requires little skill and a few affordable materials. One of the things I look for when the holiday season starts are assorted shapes of wood ornaments. These bell shapes are one of two I came across this year at Michael’s. These are approximately 4″ x 2 1/2″ which is a size I enjoy working with. They aren’t to small where the picture…

Lamp Makeover With Rice Paper, Paint and Silk Flowers.
A plain white lamp and shade. In my opinion, the best way to start a project! This lamp is clean ad needs no repairs. It was an inexpensive purchase I made a few years ago for our extra bedroom. I had been in the process of painting and throwing the room together quickly and wasn’t sure in what direction I wanted to go. So I figured buying a plain lamp and shade would enable me to change it into exactly what I wanted when the time came. Fast forward to the present…I found a different lamp for our spare room (one that definitely needs to be made over). So this…

Dainty Pink And Pearl Vase/Decoupaged With Wrapping Paper
Decoupage with wrapping paper. It can be tricky but with a little patience and a few good tips You can use your favorite wrapping paper for more then just around the outside of a gift. It can be part of the gift:) That being said, this project was inspired by my nieces birthday and her love of anything including princesses, sparkle and pink themed bedroom decor. The glass vase I started with came right out of my project stash. I began by painting the entire vase with pink chalk paint and a foam brush. I prefer to do this on glass. The coverage is thicker and you don’t get brush…

Butterfly Vase/Painted and Decoupaged With Napkins
I love my napkin stash! I have quite a few of these and whenever I open my craft container they inspire me. I know I know they are just napkins but the picture makes me feel good:) To begin I washed this glass vase and wiped any excess oil from the outside with alcohol on a cotton ball. I painted the outside of my vase with two coats of chalk craft paint using a small foam brush. I mixed colors to try and closer match the background color of the napkins. It ended up being an earthy yellow after adding a small amount of a sandy beige. To prepare the…

Dresser Set Makeover with Kilz Chalk Paint
Yes this is a dresser set makeover. You only see this one pictured due to the size of the room I’m working in. This set includes this highboy, a women’s dresser which is low and long and includes a large mirror and a nightstand. The set is in very good condition and has been used in our house for years. I decided to makeover our master bedroom and we found our two dressers that we know have in our room on Facebook Marketplace. We both wanted bigger dressers so I took the opportunity to make this set over in hopes to sell it. Thankfully no major cleaning was needed.…

Thrifted Dresser With Mirror Painted With Chalk Paint/Polycrylic Topcoat
Here is how I found her on Facebook Marketplace. Not bad. Even better was the size and condition. I had been searching for a dresser for so long and boom. As soon as this popped up I knew I had to have it. Unfortunately she was spoken for, but I made the girl promise to contact me if the deal fell through. As luck would have it, the deal fell through:) After removing all the hardware, I vacuumed and thoroughly cleaned this piece with a mixture of vinegar, water and dish soap. I then let the drawers sit in the sun for a short while just to air out a…
