Dry Orange Slices In the Oven/Rustic Addition For Autumn And Winter Home Decor

I love home decor that includes natural elements. In the past I’ve strung popcorn, used acorns, leaves, twigs, birch bark and cinnamon sticks. Dried orange slices are also very popular and super easy!

I started by slicing two oranges 1/4″ thick.  Try to make them as even as possible and placed them on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. I had a couple that I knew were cut to thin but I left them on the tray anyway.

I warmed my oven to 325 degrees and put the oranges in for one hour. After the hour was I flipped the slices over and put the tray back in the oven for another hour.

This is after two hours of cooking. As expected one of the thinner pieces was getting to browned so I ended up getting rid of it. It never would have made it through the last hour of cooking.

Here is how they look after cooking for three hours. They’re cooled and ready to use.

I tied the slices to garland with some jute.

I decided to keep the garland on my dinning room table as part of my Christmas centerpiece.  I added some pinecones and placed the display on a piece of raw wood.  I’m still trying to make up my mind which version I like better:)

Thank you for stopping by,
