Jelly Jar Recycled into a Votive Candle Holder
In keeping with the Spring themed projects, I created a votive candle holder to pair alongside my previous blog project; A Spring Inspired Butterfly Garland. Both were created using pretty floral napkins I purchased from Etsy. The decoupage technique I used on this project is perfect to apply to any container you want to decorate but still want it to be somewhat translucent for candlelight to show through. My relaxation during the holiday season involves personalizing gifts and making them myself. This can prove to be time consuming but by keeping them easy and giving them some consideration ahead of time, these crafts and smaller projects have become one of my biggest stress relievers. Wall Plaque Made over With Rice Paper And Hooks
Spring is around the corner and I assembled another wall plaque for a relative who will be setting up a new home space for themselves. This one is very different then the other one I just blogged about. The rice paper I used screams summer/spring and nice weather. It has a beautiful floral that includes tree branches, a birdcage and a bird outside the cage. I used another of the wood plaques I had purchased from the craft store that already had the string to hang it with attached. This is a very light piece of wood so the string alone was sufficient.
