Jelly Jar Recycled into a Votive Candle Holder
In keeping with the Spring themed projects, I created a votive candle holder to pair alongside my previous blog project; A Spring Inspired Butterfly Garland. Both were created using pretty floral napkins I purchased from Etsy. The decoupage technique I used on this project is perfect to apply to any container you want to decorate but still want it to be somewhat translucent for candlelight to show through. Any smaller jar will do when creating a holder for a votive candle. I had this small jelly jar I chose to use from my stash. I really like the size and weight of the glass. Decoupaged Wood Butterfly Garland/Spring Inspired.
I’m so excited about the coming Spring. When on the the hunt for some new faux florals, I came across this cute pack of eight wood butterflies which included a string to hang them as garland. Two of my, now adult nieces, are settling into new spaces and my first thought is organization. I love to give functional decor. I began with this wood plaque I had gotten from the craft store for $6.99. There is a…

Pretty Bottle Decoupaged With Vintage Stamperia Rice Paper And Paint
I’m not always sure in what direction to take a project when I first begin, but this bottle was giving me a vintage vibe. Before starting I gave it a coat of primer to see if it would help the acrylic paint stick to the glass surface. I then moved on to tis Folk Art white paint. It is pictured above with my new brush especially made for this paint, which I love. But I needed very a thick layers of paint to cover the green so I ended up applying two coats with a sponge. This is one of the beautiful sheets of Stamperia rice paper I recently purchased.…
