Recover A Cube Seat Using Thrifted Denim/Adding Feet Part II

Our sewing/craft/guest bedroom is a never ending work in progress. It always ends up as the “catchall” when unexpected guests arrive or when I’m just to lazy to put things where they actually belong. When I last painted, the color didn’t come out as expected, it’s to blue and the bed could use a new mattress and box spring.  There isn’t a piece of furniture that is a dedicated nightstand and the window treatments need updating. Nevertheless, it can be my favorite room, because of the crafts and sewing, or it can be the room that is never opened for the public to see, because of the state of disarray. This little cube project is my first step in getting this room pulled together, making it comfortable, multi functional and PRETTY! (Or at least pleasing to the eye…rant over)

The final step of this project is installing the feet onto my cube/sewing seat.

I found these feet at our local Home Depo. They are held on with screws and adhesive which is already on the feet.  I went with these because the cube didn’t  need any height, it just needed to be elevated off the floor so it wasn’t resting directly down on the fabric. They also serve to make the cube feel more stable.

I began by drilling pilot holes in all four corners of the cube. I used my Ryobi Cordless Drill for this.

To finish I screwed one foot onto each of the four corners with the screws provided in the package with the feet.

To recap: It went from this⇑ To this⇓

Not a bad way to spend a few hours:)

Now back to sewing…

My daughter wasted no time:)
