Maple Syrup Bottle Turned Into Winter Decor With A Holiday Card
The handle on these maple syrup bottles are so cute. I’ve thrown to many of these into the recycling bin. This is project #2 using pictures from the front of holiday cards. I have a previous blog explaining how I take a lot of the backing off the front cover of the holiday cards I used for these projects. I like to spray the back with water, let it soak in for 2-3 minutes then peel what I can get off by lifting from the corners. The rest usually requires me to rub the back of the picture gently with my finger to remove the excess. I cleaned the outside…

Decoupage With A Holiday Card/Make A Beautiful Gift Out Of A Jelly Jar
My previous blog explained how I obtained some of the images I liked from the front of holiday cards I had received this past Christmas. The above image was off of one of those pretty cards. A quick refresh: I spritzed the back of the card with water and let it soak in for 2-3 minutes. Then I peeled and rubbed much of the extra layers of paper off the back of the image. This is the jar I used from my stash. After washing the jar and cleaning the outside with alcohol, I gave it two coats of white acrylic paint. The paint said it was good on all…

Dainty Pink And Pearl Vase/Decoupaged With Wrapping Paper
Decoupage with wrapping paper. It can be tricky but with a little patience and a few good tips You can use your favorite wrapping paper for more then just around the outside of a gift. It can be part of the gift:) That being said, this project was inspired by my nieces birthday and her love of anything including princesses, sparkle and pink themed bedroom decor. The glass vase I started with came right out of my project stash. I began by painting the entire vase with pink chalk paint and a foam brush. I prefer to do this on glass. The coverage is thicker and you don’t get brush…

Holly Leaf Coasters/Decoupaged Using Napkins
I found these unfinished wooden coasters in Hobby Lobby. They were 30 percent off of the original price of $4.99 so I couldn’t pass them up! I began by applying 2 thick coats of white craft paint. I covered the tops and the four sides. I left the bottom portion with the feet bare. I pulled some festive napkins from my stash and found the design on them fit the coasters nicely. I fit the images on to the blocks and cut a square portion of the napkin out that was a bit bigger then the size of the square. I removed the back layer of the napkin ad using…

Butterfly Vase/Painted and Decoupaged With Napkins
I love my napkin stash! I have quite a few of these and whenever I open my craft container they inspire me. I know I know they are just napkins but the picture makes me feel good:) To begin I washed this glass vase and wiped any excess oil from the outside with alcohol on a cotton ball. I painted the outside of my vase with two coats of chalk craft paint using a small foam brush. I mixed colors to try and closer match the background color of the napkins. It ended up being an earthy yellow after adding a small amount of a sandy beige. To prepare the…
