Maple Syrup Bottle Turned Into Winter Decor With A Holiday Card

The handle on these maple syrup bottles are so cute. I’ve thrown to many of these into the recycling bin. This is project #2 using pictures from the front of holiday cards.

I have a previous blog explaining how I take a lot of the backing off the front cover of the holiday cards I used for these projects. I like to spray the back with water, let it soak in for 2-3 minutes then peel what I can get off by lifting from the corners. The rest usually requires me to rub the back of the picture gently with my finger to remove the excess.

I cleaned the outside of the bottle with alcohol and painted it with two coats of white acrylic paint. I applied the image with Mod Podge and sprayed it with water to soften the card material and form it to the bottle.

After it dried I covered the portion of the bottle covered with paint and picture with Mod Podge.

I covered the edges of the image with texture paste then sealed the project with Plaid Sparkle Varnish.

To finish I applied Triple Thick around the glued on picture on top of the texture paint. Before it was dry I sprinkled it with fine sparkles. Then I glued faux pearls from the craft store around the two top rings of the bottle.

So many possibilities with these cards:) There is more on these projects on my YouTube Channel, Our High Street Home.

Thank you for stopping by:)
