Decoupaged Wine Bottle Using Christmas Cards. Project #3.

I love the way all three of my Christmas card projects turned out. I think the shape of this bottle is especially suited to the shape of the picture.

To remove some of the layers of paper off the back of the card, I misted the back of the card with water, then I peeled some of the layers off starting from one of the corners. After that I gently rubbed my finger back and forth over the back of the card to roll off more of the paper.

I cleaned off the outside of the bottle with alcohol. Once dried I coated the area of the bottle where the picture was going to placed with Mod Podge and applied the image. I dampened the image first by misting it with water to soften. It was placed on the bottle and I smoothed out the wrinkles using plastic wrap.

I painted the glass with several different shades of acrylic paint. I used some pink, white, light and dark blue. Some  light lavender shades were created by some blending.

I used some bright white paint on a sponge to highlight the picture. I like when some glass shows so I taped off the neck of the bottle to keep the paint off.

To seal this project I used two coats of Deco Art Galaxy Sparkle Varnish.

To add even more glitter, I used a small fan brush to apply Triple Thick around the border of the picture and around the base of the bottle neck. While it was still wet I sprinkled fine sparkle all over the wet Triple Thick.

I finished this pretty sparkly project with some lace, glass beads and white pearl beads.

I hope you enjoyed these three holiday card inspired projects. If you would like to see more of these projects there are videos on each one on my You Tube Channel, Our High Street Home.
